Bienvenue. One of the key events in the world music calendar, Babel Med Music takes place every spring in Marseille. It feels like a festival and operates as a trade fair, with a focus on live acts and international booking. The eighth edition is running from 29-31 March 2012 at the Dock Des Suds venue. Marseille has been deemed as the economical and cultural capital of world music. In three days and three nights, there will be over thirty concerts and dozens of of conferences as well as 170 stands where fruitful encounters can be made. Over 15,000 spectators attended in 2011, and this year the plans are even bigger. Babel Med has established itself as a force to be reckoned with within world music festivals and expositions.

For three days there are ten shows a night and this year’s packed programme includes performances from Ba Cissoko (who is featured on World Music Network's Rough Guide to African Lullabies), Yiddish Twist Orchestra and the exquisite Kayhan Kalhor & Erdal Erzincan - to name a few!
