Are you ready for a reggae and dub extravaganza?
Chilli Fried is a global beat club session featuring the cutting edge of live music, hosted by guest Jamie Renton. Tonight he will be spinning a global reggae selection: African roots, Latin grooves, ska and much more. Come and see ‘Dub Me Always’ at the Ritzy, Brixton, 8-11pm on 10 October. Free entry.
Jamie Renton is a London-based global beat DJ, promoter and journalist. He regularly plays at London’s finest clubs and festivals. As a DJ he has played at the Glastonbury Festival, Dingwalls, The Roundhouse, Notting Hill Arts Club, The Albany and the Musicport Festival, alongside Felix Buxton from Basement Jaxx, Bobby Friction, Gaz Mayall, Charlie Gillett, Verity Sharp and Ross Allen. Jamie Renton also hosts stages at Celebrating Sanctuary and the Thames Festival.
The esteemed music journalist, photographer, Reggae historian and dub vinyl specialist, David Katz is also performing on 10 October at 'Dub Me Always'. Furthermore, he has set up performances on the second Wednesday of each month at the Rizty to celebrate ‘dub’. So join in and hear some rare dub on those plates!
