Passion defies easy definition. Where words struggle to convey the intensity of emotion adequately, music has often proved more powerful. This album includes fine examples of such passion, including the heartfelt emotions of Portuguese fado and Indian ghazals (love poems), the religious traditions of the Sufis and Gregorian chant, and a soukous tribute to Cameroonian football legend, Roger Milla. Diverse and contrasting, the tracks on this album are united by their expression of passion in its myriad forms.
