Founded in 1994 by Phil Stanton & Sandra Alayón-Stanton, World Music Network comprises of four labels; Riverboat Records, Rough Guides, Introducing and Think Global. Since Phil Stanton sadly passed away in 2019, World Music Network has been under the directorship of Neil Record.
For over thirty years, Riverboat Records has produced ground-breaking releases from around the world and is dedicated to exploring musical diversity and to bringing the talents of world music artists to the public eye.
Music Rough Guides take you deep into the music of different countries and genres. Cumbia, Salsa, Tabla, Fado, Brazil, India, Mali and Scandinavia – no stone is left unturned in this meticulously researched and comprehensive series.
The Rough Guides Legends series delves into the heart of the greatest jazz and blues musicians ever to have lived. Johnny Cash, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis and many more are covered in these compilations that feature the songs that propelled their names into the spotlight not only in the USA, but across the world.
Established in 2004, Introducing is World Music Network’s developing artist label dedicated to giving ground-breaking artists their international breakthrough. The label has launched the careers of many musicians, and continues to be a hub for emerging artists.
